Day 1
Island Tour – Santiago +Tarrfal 

Departing from Praia at 9:00 AM, this full-day journey follows Santiago's scenic circular road, revealing the island's rich history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes. Our first stop is Cidade Velha, the birthplace of Cape Verde, before continuing through São Domingos and the peaceful Botanical Garden of São Lourenço dos Órgãos, where endemic plants flourish. From the spectacular Miradouro dos Picos, enjoy panoramic views over the island's dramatic mountains before visiting the vibrant town of Somada and the traditional village of Poilão. The adventure continues into the Serra Malagueta Natural Park, one of Santiago's most impressive protected areas, offering unforgettable mountain scenery and fresh highland air. Along the way, you'll discover authentic villages, fertile valleys, and the daily life that makes Santiago the cultural heart of Cape Verde. The tour concludes in the beautiful seaside town of Tarrafal at approximately 3:30 PM, leaving you with lasting memories of an island filled with history, nature, and genuine local hospitality.

Day 2

Hike Ribeira Grande Santiago – Cidade Velha

After breakfast, enjoy a rewarding 3-hour hike through the beautiful Ribeira Grande Valley, one of Santiago's most fertile and authentic landscapes. The trail follows traditional paths, passing cultivated terraces, small villages, and offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Along the way, you'll discover the daily life of local communities and the island's rich agricultural heritage. After the hike, continue to Cidade Velha for a well-deserved lunch in the historic center, where Cape Verde's fascinating history and local flavors come together. This experience perfectly combines nature, culture, and gastronomy in a single unforgettable day.

Day 3

Full day tour Ribeira Barca + Aguas Belas

Experience the wild beauty of Santiago's western coast on this full-day tour to Ribeira da Barca and its spectacular sea caves. Travel through traditional fishing villages before boarding a local boat to explore impressive volcanic cliffs, hidden caves, and crystal-clear Atlantic waters shaped by centuries of Atlantic waves. Along the way, admire breathtaking coastal scenery, discover unique volcanic formations, and experience one of Santiago's most authentic fishing communities. Day 4

Hike Ribeira Principal – Tarrafal

The hike from Ribeira Principal to Tarrafal is one of Santiago Island's most rewarding mountain trails, combining spectacular landscapes, local culture, and authentic village life. This scenic route crosses green valleys, traditional farming areas, and peaceful communities, offering beautiful views of the island's interior before descending towards the coastal town of Tarrafal. The trail covers approximately 7km, with a total elevation gain of +150 m and an elevation loss of -750m, requiring around 3 hours of walking. Along the way, you'll discover the daily life of local farmers, fertile valleys, and the natural beauty that makes Santiago one of Cape Verde's most diverse islands. The hike finishes in Tarrafal, where you can relax and enjoy the charm of this historic coastal destination. A perfect experience for travelers looking to connect with nature, culture, and the authentic soul of Cape Verde.

Day 5

City tour + Plató’s Market – Rebelados

Discover the cultural richness and authentic traditions of Santiago Island on this fascinating tour combining history, local markets, and unique communities. Begin with a visit to the Plateau area in Praia, the historic center of the capital, where you will explore the local market and experience the colors, flavors, and daily life of Cape Verde. Continue the journey to discover the Rebelados, a traditional religious community known for preserving ancestral customs, crafts, and a unique way of life. The tour then takes you towards Calheta de São Miguel, a charming coastal area where you can experience local traditions and the peaceful rhythm of island life. Along the way, you will meet local people, discover hidden stories, and gain a deeper understanding of Santiago's cultural identity. This experience offers an authentic connection with Cape Verde's heritage, traditions, and the warm hospitality of its communities

Day 6 
Departure to the airport – wishing you an excellent return flight

Clothes

- A scarf to protect the neck
- 1 or 2 thermal underwear (short or long sleeve T-shirts – )
-Cap or hat for the sun
- 1 light fleece or equivalent (warm for the southern winter months - T-shirts)
(short and long sleeves), preferably in technical material with quick drying
- A breathable waterproof windproof jacket with a Gore
- 1 long shorts or Bermuda shorts
-A pair of sunglasses (high protection factor)
- Sun protection cream (face and lips)
- A multi-purpose pocket knife
- A pair of telescopic hiking poles (recommended
- 1 comfortable walking pants
- 1 pair of waterproof, comfortable “trekking” shoes with a rising upper and grippy sole (Vibram
type). They must hold onto the ground well. The trails in Cape Verde can be both muddy and rocky
- 1 pair of sneakers or equivalent light shoes for the evening
- Pairs of walking socks
- Swimsuit

Farmacy
Your guide has a first aid pharmacy. However, it is recommended to bring your personal pharmacy:
elastoplast, iodized alcohol, aspirin, intestinal antiseptic, small scissors, tricosteril, sun protection
cream, personal medication ...
